Morimondo, Besate, Ozzero and Motta Visconti, this last leader of the District, them all represent an area of almost 11,000 inhabitants, with an important natural interest.
The District takes its name from the Ticino that during the years of economic boom was very popular as a seaside destination for its crystal clear waters due to the presence of layers of silica and for this it was called The "Blue River".
A distinctive feature is the network of agricultural farms all along the coasts of the Regional Park of the Ticino Valley, with its attractions: rural villas, which refer to this river network, but also monuments of historical value: the ' Morimondo Abbey, already thriving center of the inter regional tourism and the Motta Visconti Press, just to name two well-known. The touristic perspective, one of the primary goals of the District, take places also through further enhancement of the existing bike paths along Bereguardo Naviglio, in order to create a green way, or the green paths .
The area already has a rooted tradition linked to the local culture, that will be the core of the project through the definition of itineraries spreading from culture, the environment, to the food products (mushrooms, sausages, rice and cheese in particular). With regard to the exploitation of the commercial shops, and to the type of businesses developed in the territory of the District, the agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing, building and construction, retail and wholesale trade, hotel business and catering, transport and real estate activities are particularly considered.
The District was recognized on September the 24th, 2009 with a d.d.g. of May the 25th, 2009 n . 5151 : Approval of the list of the Notice on the strategic Project " Districts of Commerce for the competitiveness and innovation of the distribution system in urban areas of Lombardy " - 2nd Call " Widespread Districts."
Motta Visconti Municipality
Motta Visconti is the southernmost municipality of the province of Milan on the border with Pavia. It can be said that in this place the Ticino Park offers one of the best landscapes, perhaps the wildest. There are numerous small islands created by the river and there are frequent and very interesting examples of rural architecture, as the Agnella farm dating from the tenth century, the eighteenth-century Palace of the Countess, the Hunting House of 1400.
In the center of the village there are distinguished examples of Baroque architecture, such as the parish church of St. John the Baptist, the churches of St. Anne and of the Addolorata and the Palace of the Ancient Pharmacy

Morimondo Municipality
Nestled in the Ticino Park in meadow and cultivated fields between rows of trees, the municipality of Morimondo is situated all around the beautiful Abbey. The effigy of the municipality retains indelible traces of the past: the miter indicative of religious power, the pastoral staff symbol of episcopal dignity granted to the abbot and the sword that is witness of the civil-judicial power.
A very impressive territory that maintains the characteristics of the field of the past centuries: the dense network of clear channels, the rows of poplars, the willows, they all alternate offering protection to many species of wildlife.

Besate Municipality
Nestled between rice paddies and rural stretches between the Bereguardo Naviglio and the Ticino Park in one of its best side, there is Besate, a small town that is developed alongside the road n. 526 that connects Abbiategrasso with Pavia.
The structure of the ancient Bexate recalls the shape of the Roman camps with the main road (decumana) cut at right angles from the street cardo or hinge towards the sun. The old town has low buildings, some of them in the court. An old stone sink trace the road that leads up to the Ticino.

Ozzero Municipality
The hill that overlooks the town, on which stands the Bianchi Villa (Castle) was owned by the Ozero family from Milan from which originated the name of the country.
Ozzero lies on the border with the province of Pavia in Vigevano direction. The area is surrounded by cultivated fields and woods that lead to the Ticino river. Very striking is the road that connects the village to Morimondo where you can cross springs, farms and some wildlife.
